Christ
is risen!
O Death, where
is thy sting? O hell, where is thy victory?
Christ is risen,
and hades is overthrown. Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen. Christ is
risen, and the angels rejoice! Christ is risen, and life reigns. Christ is
risen, and not one dead remains in the grave!
The
most radiant night of Christ’s resurrection
The
never-setting light of Christ’s Resurrection illuminated the Mikulj wilderness,
along with our hearts and souls, which having been humbled by prayer and
ascetic struggle, were raised to heavenly joys!
Sinful
man must rejoice at least sometimes, to taste the sweetness of heaven and the
comforts of the earth. One must worship
the Resurrected Christ the King, the Eternal and Only Victor! After having passed through the battle of the
fast, which man, because of his fallen nature, must wage for his eternal
benefit, we worshiped at the Resurrection of Christ, which brings victory and
sweetness to all who come to it with pure hearts.
In
our monastery in the wilderness, because of various circumstances, for several
years already Liturgy had not been served on Pascha. This year, however, the power of the Pascha
Liturgy enriched us.
The
every-day cycle of the divine services during this most-holy week and on this
Feast of Feasts was a great comfort and joy to us. Like a caring mother, the
Church does not leave us bereft of spiritual joy and nourishment, absolving
those prepared for communing daily of the Divine Body and Blood of Christ,
while at the same time not depriving us of a modest earthly celebration in the
form Paschal songs, delicious, non-fasting meals, and general good cheer.
Thus
let all mankind rejoice in body and soul, rejoice in our Savior, for He is
nearer to us now more than ever, and the rays of His victory fall upon our
heads and grace our hearts and souls, inspiring everyone in the unwavering
battle until the general Resurrection!
Rejoice,
for Christ is Risen!
